Farm Worker, Even’ Star Organic Farm

Lexington Park, MD                                                                                                      Spring 2023

• Participated in the maintenance of garden beds, harvesting, processing vegetables, and packaging, and learned all new skills related to these tasks. 

Farm Internship, Garden to Table/ Taylor Street Farm

San Jose, CA                                                                                                               Summer 2021

• Maintained the farm’s garden beds through watering, weeding, pruning, and fertilizing, as well as feeding and providing water to the farm’s chickens in order to help keep the farm functioning and alive. 

• Learned new skills such as plant propagation, seed planting, and creating and turning a compost pile, in order to produce more plants to be added to the garden beds, and to ensure that there will be compost to use in the future. 

• Led groups of volunteers and acted as an educator, in order to pass on the skills listed above to the farm volunteers, and help them learn how to grow their own food and foster the community aspect of the farm. 

 

Lifeguard Manager, Greenbelt Aquatic and Fitness Center

• Supervised lifeguards and assured a safe and clean environment for patrons by directing and participating in cleaning chores, as well as doing hourly readings to make sure the pool water is at safe chemical levels.

• Insured safety of patrons through keeping watch of the pool and swimmers, attending training to keep up skills.
